Game Links

Haluz2 - Interesting new point and click game.

Jay is Games - Tons of games on the web. I’m a fan of the Point and Click games which are very similar to Room Escape games. Here are some good examples of point and click / room escape games:

DayMareTown - Point and click game. The object is to escape the town.

The ShoChu Bar - A Point and Click / Escape game. Higher end graphics, trickier, too.

BigFishGames - More games.

Set Game - Each day, a new game of “Set” is on the website. It’s a unique game and I admit that I was completely stumped the first time I played until I lost about 3 times and then wanted to know what I was missing.

The Jumble - It’s the Jumble.

Return to Mysterious Island - This game was not easy. You’re stranded on an island and must piece together a large number of objects (including things like saltpeter and sulfuric acid). Interesting game.

Travel Links

TripAdvisor - If you’re planning a trip, nothing beats the forums and hotel reviews on this website. The candid photos of hotels goes a long way to show you exactly what you might be in for.

Seat Guru - If you’ve determined what airline and flight you’d like, you can see what plane will be flying. From there, this website can tell you what seats are good or bad, loud, quiet, etc.

Bidding For Travel - If you use Priceline or are considering using Priceline, you’ll want to check out this website’s forums. Forum participants tell you what they bid and if they were successful or not. It will give you a great idea on where to start your bidding as well as tell you what hotels are in each star category.

Blogs and Misc.

I Can Has Cheezburger? - If you haven’t heard of this website, well, I don’t know how to describe it. It is LOL Cats. Basically, pictures of various cats (and other animals) with ridiculous captions. Here is my favorite of a chihuahua in a wig.

Pop Candy - Great blog on USA Today. The author (Whitney) writes about pop culture. Lots of links, updated a few times a day.

Clicked - Blog from MSNBC. The author (Will) posts links to the various things he’s clicked on recently. Often includes news stories, games, odd points of interest.

Television Without Pity - Recaps of your favorite televisions shows done by sarcastic (and funny) a-holes. You’ve got to love it.

Mental Floss - Mental Floss is a magazine aimed at making you feel smart again. The Mental Floss Blog is full of random information.

The Sneeze - Half zine. Half blog. Half not good with fractions. My personal favorite is the “Steve, don’t eat it” series.

Nerd Links

National Public Radio - For kids who participated in spelling bees or ate lunch alone. Liberal goodstuff.

Treonauts - If you own a Treo, this guy (Andrew) does some great reviews. He’s a bit of a windbag, in my humble opinion, but it’s a great place to start to get an opinion on hardware and software for your Treo.

Treocentral - Another great place for Treo-dorks. You can find just about any issue in the forums.

MSNBC - Great place to catch up on up news. And to play the daily crossword.

How Stuff Works - Great website that explains how everyday (and more complicated) things actually work. From your washing machine to your 401(k), you can find information here.

ThinkGeek - Yeah, pretty much if you’re geeky.
