Welcome, 2012.
I’m making New Year’s Resolutions this year. Well, I actually started about 3 weeks ago so that I’d get into the groove of it.
1. Take daily vitamins. I started out taking gummy vitamins but realized quickly that I just don’t like candy that much. So now I swallow them. Guess what? Turns out I don’t like swallowing vitamins the size of time capsules all that much, either – but I’m doing it anyway.
2. Go to bed when sleepy. (Please see ‘Ambien is Bullshit‘.) I realize that it’s ridiculous that I act like a 5 year old and fight sleep. I know this. But the world just becomes more interesting to me after midnight. Probably because all the lame early-sleepers are not up to dilute the fun.
3. Not a single cigarette. I’m not really a smoker. I couldn’t tell you the exactly last time I smoked a cigarette (it has been months). But I also could not tell you the last time I went a full 12 months without a single cigarette.
4. Be more like Lisbeth Salander. That is: Don’t put up with bullshit.
Happy New Year, everyone.

I’m surprised at the smoking one. Seriously.
Seriously?
I smoked over a pack a day for 16 years before quitting 8 years ago. I can’t imagine a reason for anybody to casually smoke a cigarette for any reason. It’s just vile.
Good luck on these, my friend. And happy new year.

5) Love QTMama forever.
I think that is an addendum that needed to be made.

@cbg – I’ve always been a “take it or leave it” kind of kid with smoking. I smoked for a bit while out of town in August (which was very rough) and then I don’t remember even stopping. I don’t have to make a big effort to stop, it just…stops. I just want to be more conscientious about not having it start again.
And I’m shocked to hear that you smoked! Glad you quit, buddy!

I definitely think that these are good resolutions! Especially the don’t put up with bullshit one.
Also I take the gummy vitamins. The real ones make me sick in the morning (once I DEFINITELY thought I was pregnant because I was throwing up every morning, WTF birth control, but turns out my stomach just couldn’t handle the minerals in grown-up vitamins. Too much info for a comment? SORRY
Anyway, I hope you find one that works for you.
