The dangers of iTunes.
Do you ever hear a song and for some odd reason, you recognize it and it strikes you right then as awesome? And you want to play it for your friends and say, “Remember this song? It’s awesome.” And you go purchase it on iTunes and then a month later, you’re like, “Seriously?”
Seriously. Welcome to my latest download: Kenny Loggin’s Whenever I call you “friend”
Sweet love’s showin’ us a heavenly light
Never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we’ll be doing it, doing it
WTF.
Skip to 1:06 or 2:57 to see what’s going through my head. Is that the most ridiculous video you’ve ever seen?
Honestly, I might have been better off pondering toothpaste and Dolly Parton.

Is this like a “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” moment? Thanks to you, I had that song in my head for a week

I don’t know, I think that song IS kind of awesome!
I know what you mean though, iTunes has enabled many bad impulse music purchases for me, too.

WTF, dude?
I’m pretty anal retentive about my iTunes. Like I don’t want something bad to contaminate the rest of my songs or something.

Bev – I definitely got over this song a lot faster than my Paradise by the Dashboard Lights phase. At least it’s only a 99 cent indulgence. heh.

Krystie Lee – THANK YOU. See? It’s kind of awesome in a 1970′s way. Even if it is from…I think, 1991.

KT – I know, I know – something is wrong with me. I don’t know what my deal is with the odd music buys. It’s a good thing you can’t see my iTunes library.

Thanks. Now this song is stuck in my head. I’ll be humming this for the duration of our trip to Verona (3 hours). C might throw me off the train.

At least the Kenny Loggins song was better than the Grease medley we were singing on the Segways! That took me FOREVER to get out of my mind!

Soooo, I wasn’t dreaming…someone DID call me and serenade me the other nite

Random . . . I never would have guessed that you would have ever been fond of that song. Learn something new everyday! Of course . . . I have no room to talk. One of my favs (to this day, no less) is “Southern Nights” by Glenn Campbell. I know, I know . . .

Most Embarrassing Song in my iTunes Library: Take This Job and Shove It by Johnny Paycheck
Completely Understandable Rationale: A friend was leaving our place of employment and I compiled a cd for her as a gift.

What the? That’s like some really bad foreign dubbed-in sh*t! So funny! What the hell WERE you thinking? ha ha
But I do love that song. Stupid video.
September 27th, 2008 at 9:10 am
Luckily I didn’t know this song. I think you and I need to sit down though and have a talk.
September 28th, 2008 at 1:15 am
I cannot write anything I’m laughing so hard….
September 28th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Despite the hilariously awfulness of that song, the video is just hilarious.
Can’t be worse than my current track: “Complicated” Avril Lavigne.
Oh, well.

Avitania – Dude, your pictures are awesome. MORE! I demand Venice pictures!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:00 am
Bev – Dammit, now that’s all I can think about. heh. Maybe I’ll go back for another Segway tour and flirt with that tour guide.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:00 am
Besos – WHAT? WHO DID THAT?
September 29th, 2008 at 9:00 am
nld – I know, right?
Dude. Glenn Campbell? no lie? We need to talk.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:01 am
KT – Okay, that is a legitimate reason to have that song. I can’t remember when I heard that song last. I think at a retirement party. heh.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Ms. Cheevious – See?? You love that song, too! Ha!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:03 am
lynchseattle – Yes. I’ll bring NLD…who likes Glenn Campbell. We need an intervention.

Savored Life – Come on. Fess up – what’s your dirty iPod guilty secret song?
September 29th, 2008 at 9:09 am
d.mc. – Ha! Complicated, huh? Naaaace. I checked out your blog – I laughed at the CBS news/polling post. Apparently, the poll was taken in Chicago where the dead still vote and 110% of the population turns up at the booth.

I think I need therapy after listening to that song.
By any chance, was there… just maybe… alcohol consumed before you downloaded that one?
We all know booze and iTunes don’t mix.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:18 am
Tiffany – I’m ashamed to say that no alcohol was involved.
And I’m further ashamed to admit what actually DID prompt it: I saw two women dancing to it on television. CLOSE dancing.
WTF!
