Tuesday topics.
1. I went to lunch with Instigator today. It’s my Tuesday ritual with my work-girlfriend. I remarked that I welcomed the arrival of short skirts and heels. Instigator politely ignored me. I did not steal anyone’s lunch.
2. Dinner out tonight was great. I threw together a gathering of a bunch of people (who brought more people) and we all went to a French restaurant and indulged in great food, wine, and conversation. Plush, Benefactor, and The Ballerina came. There were ten of us in all and the conversation was lively and fun. Met some really great people. I dig it.
3. The Italian and I have been stretched to the outermost limits of our patience the last few days. I remain convinced that some of my sales people could be cut in two and they would simply re-grow like earthworms.
4. Have you ever taken a sleeping pill?

Yes Ambien. Have you?
I can only imagine what your dreams would be like on a sleeping pill.
I am pictured another reendition of the Pink Floyd video The Wall.

1. Today I’m wearing a skirt (knee length- I work with dirty old men, but its fitted) and 3.5 inch leopard print peep toe pumps. Also, I don’t look like a hooker, depsite the description. I’m happily welcoming the arrival of skirt season too, for other reasons than you I’m sure. It gets boring wearing pants everyday!
4. NyQuil and Benadryl do the trick when I can’t sleep. And their non habit forming hehe. If you want a realllly nice long sleep take both.

1. I am very proud of you for not stealing of anyone’s lunch, although, did you THINK about stealing someone’s lunch? That’s the real question. I’m also in agreement re: short skirts and heels. I LOVE this time of year. I’ve already broken out the shorts!
2. What an interesting group! I bet it was fantastic!
3. I’m convinced that my co-workers would do the same if they were cut in half.
4. The closest thing to a sleeping pill I have taken is Tylenol PM. It makes me jittery. Strange, huh?

So jealous on the French food. I lurve teh yummy food o de french. Oui.
I’ve never taken a sleeping pill. I’m horribly afraid of pills in general and very rarely take anything (even Advil). I don’t know why, but I have a massive fear of addiction or that it will rot away my body parts on the inside. Hehe. Sadly, I’m not joking.
Whenever I go to the doctor I never let them prescribe pain medication. I’d rather be in pain
Hrm. Does that make me weird?
April 23rd, 2008 at 10:54 am
Sleeping pills are great – but have only taken them once or twice in my life. Usually when I’m totally stressed and must sleep. Now it’s not an option b/c I have to be semi-concious if B man wakes up.
April 23rd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
I have never taken a sleeping pill, per se. I took some melatonin once. I don’t think it did anything but make me feel weird the next day.

Dinner sounds fab and I’m slightly jealous to be honest, I really need some grown up time – and a good bottle of wine – soon before my brain starts to shrivel up.
I too wore a skirt today, but that’s not unusual for me. I wear skirts very frequently. Today’s was a cute little number from Banana Republic in shades of green that sits very low on the hips – uber cute! Add in my new favorite top and my silver ballerina flats and I’m good to go. I honestly can’t imagine why more women don’t wear skirts – they are so easy and you just look pulled together.
I have several prescriptions for sleeping pills floating around here. I’ve tried nearly everything on the market for my insomnia. I only resort to the pills if I’ve been up for three or more days – then I start getting a little psychotic if I don’t get some sleep so I’ll drug myself up. Really…after 3 days w/o sleeping you start to just be weird and cranky, and things like personal hygiene start slacking. It’s never a good scene. Better living through chemistry and all that.
My current favorite is the little blue ones… hmmm… Lunesta I believe. They work pretty well and don’t leave me feeling like a zombie the next day.

I am not a skirt person. I think I have fat knees. I will wear skirts with leggings though because they hide the knee-pudge
Ugh, I hate sleep deprivation. I do NOT do well when I don’t get sleep. The bad thing is that if I don’t sleep well one night, the next few nights will be exactly the same which exacerbates the problem. Poor Chris – ask him to tell you the story of me having a meltdown in London when we couldn’t get into our hotel room early after a night of flying. It wasn’t pretty. That man is a saint!
We’re taking the red-eye to Orlando in June. Chris has already prepared himself that there will be tears along with some sort of meltdown.

Ah yes, skirt weather. That’s all I’ve been wearing since the temp has risen drastically
And pretty shoe weather as well
I love shoes!
Sleeping pill? Why I don’t think I have, ever. But I do listen to a Kundalini CD or an ocean wave CD (no loser music added, just waves) and they never fail to lull me into sleep. Well, maybe with the exception of last night.
But I digress. French restaurants…sigh…makes me long for Paris.
Fun blog. Thanks for the silliness

All this heels and skirt wearing is making me green with envy. For some reason the Army doesn’t let me, probably has to do with me not being allowed to be a girl. =o(

Kelli, I adore you… hahaha. P.S. if you weren’t sure, this is one of your friends from the MND group on myspace. I’m the one who took the bar and who’s non-boyfriend is still dating other people… just so you know
April 24th, 2008 at 1:00 am
Just Kelli – I hadn’t until just recently. I got some Ambien in anticipation of my flight to Europe. I plan on taking one so I zonk out early and get on Europe time. To see how I’d react, I took half of one and I don’t think I moved the entire night. I normally fall asleep fairly easily.
Did you mean my dreams in particular? Do I have weird thoughts? Hm, I just went back and read some of my blog and yeah, I’m an odd ball.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:02 am
SnarkyRunner – Hi, bootiful. I did not so much as think about stealing someone’s lunch. It’s only funny if they’re afraid it will happen.
Hm, I wonder why the Tylenol PM makes you jittery. Interesting. Did you mix it with cocaine?
April 24th, 2008 at 1:04 am
MissMegs, in the past few days, I’ve read about you going on five mile runs, and wearing skirts and heels.
Err, I’m not sure where I’m going with that but probably no place good.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:06 am
Lynchseattle – Yes, it makes you weird. Among other things.
Dude, how much pain have you been in and not taken a pill? I’ve taken one pain pill (aside from things like advil, tylenol, etc.) in my life and it was when I crushed my arm in the parking gate. I wasn’t shy about it, either. I almost bit it out of the nurse’s hand.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:12 am
MsSingleMama – I don’t know how you aren’t tired ALL OF THE TIME.
QTMama – I’ve never tried that but I think my mother did and it messed with her sleep cycle in a negative way.
Tiffany – Do you have a blog, Tiffany? I’m losing track of everyone’s blog and am subscribing so I am a better reader. How bad is your insomnia?
Bev – Seriously?! What happens when you’re short on sleep? Is it just…emotional crying or is there more to it?
April 24th, 2008 at 1:13 am
Brenda, you’re very kind; thank you. I’m going to be in Paris in May. Come along!
April 24th, 2008 at 1:15 am
JustKelli – Huh. For some reason, I thought maybe the army did have skirts. Am I thinking of the navy? You’ve given me one more reason to not join the army. No women in skirts.
April 24th, 2008 at 8:29 am
RE – yes, of course I cut it with cocaine…
No, I tend to be affected adversely by sleep meds or anything that’s supposed to calm you down tends to make me jittery… odd, yes.
April 24th, 2008 at 9:42 am
LOL, poor Snarky – the same thing happens in children quite frequently because of the way they metabolize medication. I’m not sure where I’m going there…but heh, there it is…
And yes, R.E. you’ve visited my blog once or twice. I’m the owner of Izzy – the pug of the amazing tongue…. mostly I just blather on about the kiddies and life to help keep the ol’ family updated, but occasionally I have something more witty than Barney to discuss. I believe your last comment was about my desired boob job and you being a “breast aficianado” was it? LOL
April 24th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Oh, yes, your other question. I’ve had chronic insomnia for most of my adult life.
It comes and goes – and as I said, I’ll only resort to pills if I’ve been up three days in a row. Other than my sleeping pill I’m quite adverse to medication in general unless there is no other option.
Hell, I had four babies Au Naturel…yep I said it… four… no drugs. I think you can pretty much deal with any kind of pain if you know it’s not going to last forever.
April 24th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Tiffany – Good God, I’m losing my mind. What can I say – wine + late night = poor memory. Yes, you’re correct…I made the breast aficionado comments. Guilty as charged.
No drugs when you gave birth?! My sister would be agog.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Tiffany — maybe I’m small like a child? Err… uh… hmmm…
April 24th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
RanEsq- I mean your dreams on Ambien…they always make my dreams so vivid and crazier than normal. You have such vivid ‘normal’ thoughts, it makes me think your dreams must be wicked!
SnarkRuns- I DOUBLE HEART you, bootiful (stole it) and Tylenol Cold makes my heart beat CRAZY!!
RanEsq- no skirts in the Army. I can’t even wear a skirt as my class b uniform, I have to wear my jump boots cause I am Airrr-borne. Haha. Hey, but what is better than a chick in uniform toting an M16?….hmmm, alot, I know!! =)
April 24th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
We are fortunate enough to live in the modern world of great pharmaceuticals, so why not indulge (on an as needed basis). And did I give you that tip for your trip? Last summer I did the night flight to London, took an Ambien on the plane, slept for 6 hours – presto, no jet lag. I like Lunesta too. But I LOVED the epidural most of all (since you’re hosting drug talk today). Too bad you cannot self-administer
Although at the end of my labor the alarm on my epidural started going off and the nurse kept turning it off. She thought it was malfunctioning. The anesthesiologist eventually showed up and basically told her she was an idiot because the drugs were tapped out. So for the actual birthing end game I had no epidural. I guess that makes me the real idiot.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:47 am
JustKelli – really? I have vivid normal thoughts? I never thought of that before. How so?
I’ve never considered a woman with an M-16 but, I admit, now I’m curious!
April 25th, 2008 at 12:48 am
Instigator – I have ambien for the trip. I took half of one just to see what it would do to me and I don’t think I moved all night.
And what the HELL with that nurse?
April 25th, 2008 at 9:18 am
Random….let me go back this weekend and I will highlight ALL your vivid thoughts…..I have a feeling I will be very busy. =)
FYI….I love your vivid thoughts, they have me hooked.
Hmm, I will have to post you some pics with my M16 or maybe on top of a Stryker in Baghdad!
April 25th, 2008 at 9:54 am
JustKelli – well, I’m certainly pleased that you like my vivid thoughts, even if I don’t know about them.
Yes, readers demand KelliM16 photos!
