Monday Mumblings.
1. I ate a pastrami sandwich today with salt and vinegar potato chips and some bread and butter pickles. This means that by the end of the day, I’ll have either dehydrated all together or …have gout.
2. My new computer is up and running. Unfortunately, it won’t make me a better writer or any less of an unintentional a-hole.
3. I’m debating if, while in Paris, I’ll try Tour d’Argent and order its famous le canard a la presse. It is one of those things that sounds like a good idea…until you see pictures of some guy in a tux wringing out a duck to get all of its blood. Then,…not so much.
4. New camera arrives tomorrow. Canon G9. Just think, in ten years, I may be able to take pictures half as well as LynchSeattle.
5. The weather today is chilly and rainy and I admit that I like it. It is the perfect weather to crack the windows and nap in bed.
6. Monday came too quickly, entered too loudly and did not wear enough make-up. I am unimpressed.

Yeah I’m dealing with the same salt situation today. My heels are torturing my feet more than normal and I’m guessing it has something to do with all the crap I ate this weekend. I feel like I have Miss Piggy feet (crammed into heels, bursting out of the top). Luckily they don’t look like that.
The weather is the same here today. It’s kind of a mist though, not actual raindrops. I wish I were at home with the windows cracked taking a nap. Unfortunately I’m at my desk, can’t see a window (gotta love them cubes) and I won’t be home for another 6 hours. Thanks for the tease though ;o)

I’m excited for you for your trip to Europe! Remind me to send you the names of places we ate at. Didn’t do anything as high end as Tour D’Argent, but Paris is filled with wonderful cafes. I can’t wait to see your pictures!
I have to admit that I really like Mondays. I feel so energized after the weekend that I wake up on Monday morning feeling like I can accomplish anything. The feeling lasts until Tuesday morning when I wake up exhausted from Monday. I repeat the same cycle weekly.
I’m ready for some nice weather. Last week brought snow – a rare occurrence in March for Seattle. I desperately need to get some yard work done but it’s still nipply outside so I’m staying in and studying.
Hope you have a better Tuesday!

Stoked that you’re getting a new camera, but I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I saw the pics of the duck carnage.
Oy.

Well sir I have to agree with Lily… I too gagged at the sight of duck juice.
I love meat – don’t get me wrong – bring on the steak sauce, but good lord I don’t want to actually see it in any form other than fully cooked on my plate.

MissMegs – I didn’t know that it could affect my feet. I don’t feel gout-ish (heh), just remember hearing a rumor about deli meat and gout.
Bev – I’m be hitting you up for restaurants before I go. Seriously, you like Mondays that much? What part of your brain likes it? (C’mon. Use some of your terminology. It’s like speaking French to a woman – whisper some sweet anatomy and physiology into my ear.)

Lol… I don’t know what gout feels like either. I just meant my feet are swollen from salt (I realize this is gross- they aren’t like HUGE swollen, just u know, a little, I’m just going to shutup now, I swear my feet aren’t hideous). I dunno sometimes my fingers, sometimes my toes. I hope that doesn’t mean I have gout. I just that was a normal effect of consuming way too much salt.

MissMegs – Sorry, that totally came out wrong. *laugh* So, your toes are puffy. I got it now.
I doubt you have gout.
But I’ve been wrong before.

Ok thank you for clarifying
)
Oh and I googled gout… I don’t have it hehe… thank goodness! It does not look very pretty.

Did I mention how jealous I am? (of the trip, not the possible gout or dehydration). Photos. Lots of photos.

1. Random Jerky
3. OMG, that was never a good idea. gag.
4. His pics are amazing!!!
5. Welcome to Seattle!
6. Monday, Saturday, it’s all the same at my house. Elsa wakes me up at 6 everyday, too loudly.
March 31st, 2008 at 6:34 pm
Begijn,
I promise lots of photos.
Now then. Let’s begin with the shameless flirting?

The planning/OCD part of my brain (I believe it’s in the overplanningocdtemporal lobe) loves to have Monday come around so I can tackle my weekly plan in one day, heh. Today it was trying to make my way through a chapter on neurons – reading each section about 3 times before I got it.
Didn’t Henry VIII have gout? If so – Ew.

Krystie Lee – I think I’m going to Seattle in June. ARE YOU GOING TO MEET ME AT THE AIRPORT WITH FLOWERS?
March 31st, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Bev – Bev, that is seriously twisted.
March 31st, 2008 at 7:32 pm
If I’m invited, I’ll meet you for drinks with Chris & Bev. I won’t bring flowers, though, just my husband.
March 31st, 2008 at 7:34 pm
Krystie Lee –
Deal! I’ll take it. Besides, we’ll all want to know whose underwear he’s wearing.

1. I love all of the above. Heaven never tasted so dehydrated.
2. But it will let you do all of those things faster than before
3. That grosses me out. But I’m strangely interested. Gah!
4. Enjoy the camera! Meh, I’m flattered but you’ll be an incredible photographer in no time!
5. The weather here is on the border of the apocalypse. I don’t know what’s going on. Rain, snow, sun, warm, cold, freeze, sleet, hail. Repeat, rinse, and lather.
6. I could go for another weekend tomorrow.
March 31st, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Bread & Butter pickles are kind of the best thing ever.

Good God, I’d never heard of canard a la presse. Looks like a test for true carnivores. I’d fail.
Here’s a French lesson for you before your trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIHCm_gajss
