Kala has a litterbox because even though she is a dog, she refuses to go out in bad weather. Instead of using regular cat litter, we use a brand of dog litter that has big pellets. Apparently, the big pellets = snack food for Kala. I won't even go into what the other dogs do in regard to the litterbox. And my dog feels the need to roll in it as well. Not her own of course. I think its like perfume to them or something. She comes trotting up to me with a big doggy smile and tongue hanging out... like "look at me Ma!"... combine poo-rolling and rhinestone studded collars and you've got a shit encrusted mess.
