Single Mom Seeking - Just for the record...I'm sure I screw up sometimes with the whole blog thing. I can see it being difficult to know what to post...and about whom to post. I wrote about someone in a couple of entries and then discovered that this person deceived me and I removed the posts immediately. I was angry. So I am sure that I have my own gun-shy feelings about my blog.

To answer your question about us processing posts together...no. Literally, it goes like this: I say, "Permission requested to write about..." and Plush says, "Granted." And then I do it.

I know people blog for different reasons. For me, it is to write and, I hope, to entertain. So my blog probably doesn't lend itself to causing dating issues, really. I know that when Boss and I split, some readers were shocked and reached out to me - and that is partly how I know some of my readers. But I didn't give any indication of the pending split on my blog. That's just not what I blog about. That isn't to say that I don't write about how I feel. In fact, looking back at some of the entries I wrote about Boss was painful and they were changed to private. I hadn't written about a broken heart but it reminded me that I had one.

It's true, I do enjoy reading entries about me. I think it's fair to say that any girl taking the time to read these blogs would love to see herself written about with such thoughtfulness and insight - kind of the modern-day equivalent of someone writing you poetry.

I do give permission before anything I've said is quoted directly, but I'm also not the least worried about any "malcontent" being voiced here instead of in person. Another of RandomEsq's many sexy qualities: a profound respect for honesty.

What can I say, all in all I think I'm a pretty lucky girl. ;)

I requested Plush's permission before posting any of the content of her e-mail to me and would do so if I thought anything I might write about her might not give her the privacy she expects and deserves.

I would imagine that Plush will weigh in herself on this question, too, but if I had to guess, I'd say she enjoys it when I write about her. I dated Boss (my ex) for years and you'll see that I never wrote a single bad thing about her so I would think it would be clear that my blog is the last place to voice any malcontent about a personal relationship I value - that probably helps with any trust issues.

Ahh, she's going to respond to this so I'll turn it over to her...

This is what I'd LOVE to read about (but haven't attempted to delve into myself yet): What does Plush think about all this blogging about her?... Do you two process your posts together? Has it caused any tension? Does she love reading about how you think/feel?

Just curious.

Thanks for all the insights.

Hi, SnarkyRunner,

Oh boy. I'm going to turn red just typing this.

I nicknamed her Plush and told her so. She was delighted and said it was perfect. I didn't think she actually knew *why* I chose Plush - I just thought she liked the name.

Ms. Single Mama posted an entry about my blog and mentioned the Plush nickname...and Plush commented. This is what she said:

***
Plush (noun, adjective, -er, -est)
1. characterized by extravagance and profusion
2. expensively or showily luxurious: the plushest hotel in town
3. abundantly rich; lush; luxuriant: plush, rolling lawns

Random Esquire gave me the nickname after Little Filthy became obsessed with licking and molesting a plush toy. ;)
***

Um, so Plush knew after all. Guess I'm not so subtle after all.

Why exactly did you start calling her Plush? I'm curious. I've read the archives ... shush... I have nothing to do until my bar results come out... and there was no reasoning behind the nickname. Can you fill me in please? thanks buddy! :-)

Ms. Single Mama - I think you have another good 10 years to go before you are familiar with those things again. ;)
